Employees of the Month - in a 3 x 3 room, fire hazard, up three flights of stairs, with 18 other people
We are currently in Day 6 of our challenge. On Day 1 we decided not only to do a whole week of festival action, we decided to keep the ball rolling and try for the whole month.
Well, we have already failed given we didn't go to any shows on Sunday, but yesterday we went to two! Edinburgh has come alive, and has become the city that I thought it was going to be. It's a bit of a sleepy hollow when the Fringe isn't on. Where's the fashion at? Where's the cool hidden bars and the live music?
I know there's been a heap load of 'these are my recommendations' but that is all too overwhelming. MY recommendation is to not plan anything. I guess I have it a little bit easier seeing as I'll be in Edinburgh for the whole month, but I would fully recommend you just going with the flow.
Day One:
A-Z of Backpacking. He was funny, and had a nice vibe going, but got distracted easily and the tacky font on his tv presentation didn't help. 6.5/10
Day Two:
Swan Lake. Turns out I find ballet quite boring. Left half way through. 4.5/10
Day Three:
Sy+. The start and finish acts were brilliant! But the middle one let me down. Using feminism and vegetarians as his jokes. LAME move brother. 7/10
Employees of the Month: Hilarious. So so very funny, first act was just awesome. Second one didn't have enough speed and didn't really know what he was going to perform, and the last act was ok. I guess it's a tough act to follow after the first guy. 8/10
Day Four:
Opps. Didn't see anything.
Day Five:
Buffering. I laughed so it must've been good. Had some great liners about computer stuff which I related to, but was quite crude in some areas. 6/10
Squidboy. THIS BLEW MY MIND. It was so good. I cannot believe how good it was. How is that even possible? I found that along with laughing a lot, I had no idea what to expect. Best show yet, plus the illustration for the flyer is super cute. 9/10
Day Six:
Planning on checking out one tonight at The Espionage.
