Brighton in one night and a hotel upgrade

Upgraded in Brighton at Christmas time
The Queen Adelaide Room with carpet for walls // Upgraded and it feels so good.
Travelling throughout England struggles
So much travelling for these feet // ASOS Suppose Heels (I even brought another pair because they're so much my jam)

Diary entry from: 24th December 2013 Christmas Eve, somewhere between Brighton and London

London Day One: We went to meet up with Tim and had brunch - toast was the only thing we were able to have on the menu. We must've looked like sad guys, that being said we'd already eaten breakfast. That night was raucous with bedtime at 3.30AM and getting up the next morning at 7.30AM (London Day Two) to head off to meet more friends to do some NZ Skyping. It was great having Skyped my friend - we caught up really well, it's much easier than emails really.

I had a mad rush to meet up with a NZ work mate who I meet in my old job at TRN Whangarei - but before that managed to squeeze in a meal in Chinatown. On Sunday night we went to a pub, drank a shit load and went back to the flat.

(London Day Three/Brighton Day One) The following day we caught the train to Brighton and when we got to The Royal York Hotel we had found out we'd been upgraded! Isn't that lovely? It was the Queen Adelaide Room and it was delightful! So beautiful. [I've just seen they have closed down. I don't know why I'm upset about this, but I feel like since they shouldn't have anything bad happen to them.]

We went wandering on the pier and played some games at the amusement area. Wandered the small alleyways and went home with sandwiches.

After a great nights sleep we woke up and went shopping (Brighton Day Two). JE got the first First Aid Kit album on vinyl from resident and we brought coffees at a nearby vegetarian cafe, Wai Kika Moo Kau. All this was rather relaxing really... Until.

We checked out of our hotel and went to the train station where we found out that all the trains had been cancelled. Fuck. We had to make a decision on how to get to London, did we want to wait for the next direct train or jump on the next train to take us the furtherest. We did the latter which took us to Hayward Heath.

We got there and joined a massive queue to get to on a bus to get to another bus to get to the train. We got on the bus but for the next bus we couldn't wait any longer as it was becoming a stressful lynch mob situation. So we got a taxi to the train station.

Met someone who had a cat. Met someone who coughed and snorted so much. Met (we'll didn't actually) a man who shoved another man over. Met someone who had a rat in her handbag.

We've been travelling for so long and it's hard to believe we might get to a supermarket for food for Christmas day. Wish us luck.

Our travelling tracks:

A. Get to train station in Brighton
B. Train to Haywards Heath
C. Bus to Three Bridges
D. Taxi to East Grinstead
E. Train to London... hopefully

[We did find food - it's London, of course]
