Drinking in Newcastle: Chinatown

Blyth near Newcastle
We couldn't find the exact housing number where JE's Nana lived but here's a good guess

JE and I on Whitley Beach - it's cold!
I found out that I needed a coat // 3 layers is certainly not good enough

Diary entry from: 26th November 2013

I've been away! In Newcastle for just the weekend! We went with two new friends we meet at a bar and we rented a car with them. And no, it wasn't creepy. Left late Friday night and arrived quite tired on Friday evening in the bustling city of Newcastle.

Newcastle doesn't really offer many tourist attractions so we just wandered around the city. Got some burritos for lunch on Saturday and then did a small road trip to Blyth where JE's Nana used to live back in 1923. We meet a lovely man who was attached to a rope ontop of the roof of an apartment block. We couldn't get him to shut up. Chattering away with no worries.

We napped for a bit in our rooms at the hotel and reconvened to get the best Chinese meal EVER in Chinatown. BYO boys and girls. 1 x wine bottle each in between us we were well hammered when we explored Newcastle town. Bit hazy on those details though...

Hungover we got brunch at a vegan friendly cafe, Scrumpy willow and the Singing Kettle. It was okay, could've been a bit hotter but food is food after too many drinks the night before.

We checked out Whitley Beach and cruised home. Saturday night really took it out of us all so we were all tired sausage pups. A lot of The Beatles and a lot of miles later we arrived back in dull, boring Edinburgh (going through a faze of hating Edinburgh at the moment.)

Flashback diary done in a flash x
