Strawberry Fields and MelloMello

Strawberry Fields foreverrrrr // Wearing Karen Walker dress and sunglasses and Brady jacket

Lunch at The Egg Cafe with JE // Buffet!
Powerlines in Liverpool // On the street where George Harrison grew up

Diary entry from: 26th October 2013 Liverpool, UK

Just eating some breakfast at Hoax Hostel. It was not vegan. They had no soy milk and only butter available for toast. This place - it's cool but not the best. Elevator is broken so we've had to use the stairwell.

After leaving Blackpool we drove to Liverpool and checked in - but stored our luggage at the hostel. Then we were off to lunch at Egg Cafe. Very yummy and nice but quite expensive. Mine was good (pea and potato madras) but JE's red dragon pie was a bit bland... From there we went to Albert Dock to get our tickets for the Magical Mystery Tour. It was disappointing but enlightening. My favourite part was the Strawberry Fields and the homes of the Beatles. However the tour was quite creepy when you think about it.

The Cavern sucks and was doing Karaoke to Robbie Williams 'Angels'. Oh dear. I feel like this trip has been quite a bit of a down buzz but we are definitely having fun. Went back to the hostel after The Cavern and had an early tea before heading off to The Philharmonic Dining Rooms where the Beatles used to hang out. Super expensive we walked off to Elevator Bar but we were clearly too early for the party with no one at the bar. When we were walking back into town towards MelloMello we came across three stray kittens and their mother. We watched for ages and they became more confident. A taxi whizzed past and stopped with an old man coming out of the taxi with food. He must be looking after them!

MelloMello was rad. I had a vegan lemon cupcake and gin and tonics. Not wanting to drink at the hostel in the shared rooms we went to St James Garden (a world heritage site) and drank Fosters and chatted away about our future.

Found ourselves back at the hostel for bed time. In bunk beds. The end. Good night x
