Diary entry from: 15th September 2013 Loch Ness, Scotland
We've arrived! Currently at the hostel having a Christmas version Stella Artois. It's good. On the way here we checked out Perth, went to Beatrix Potter's Garden, and onto Glenfiddich Distillery. That was the best! So good, so amazing. We, of course brought some small sized whiskies - a 12 year, 15 year and 18 year. [Haven't tried them yet. They'll probably end up like the Bordeaux bottles of wine we don't drink and are saving for a special occasion].
Diary entry from: 21st September 2013 Edinburgh, Scotland
It's been 6 days since we started our trip which is now over. After we finished our snacks and Stellas we walked to Urquhart Castle. We were told it costs during the day but if you go at night time it's not actually illegal. After climbing some fences to get inside - it was beautiful, the way that it was lit up was stunning.
The next morning I went for a big run in the woodlands that surrounded our cottage. We hadn't touched the Loch Ness water but that came later when we stopped in the car at a layby and got our feet wet! It was so cold! Self timer, and then on the road again to Isle of Skye.
We stayed at Broadford Backpackers which looks terrible on the outside but it's really nice inside. Liam and Linda found out that if they got married in Denmark it would be acceptable in Germany so we went for a stroll with some beers to the pier. Celebration! That night we played scrabble and cards and got sleepy. Next morning JE came with me to go running - made him happy as the day before I think he was pissed I went running by myself.
Drove around Isle of Skye and ate our supermarket lunch on a cliff. Calum's Seal Trip was on at 3.30pm in Plockton so we had to get there in time. Last week I had blood tests so I was waiting for the Doctor to ring all day - he rang as we arrived in Plockton and it looks like I need more blood tests as my liver levels are high [turns out it's fine and all explained for]. We went on the boat which was great. They sold whisky, so whisky in hand we saw seals!
We had a long drive on Saturday onto Fort William, lunch in Glencoe, then stopped at Loch Lomond and then home. We had one last hurray with Liam and Linda in Edinburgh with our new Australian friends. They say 'dance' funny. I like it.
Yesterday we said goodbye to Liam and Linda, I'll miss them and our empty room now.
