Chilling in the grass area of the Stone Circle at Glastonbury 2013
Glastonbury is over for the year. And what a fucken brilliant time I had. What I expected I have no idea, but boy was it good.
I would have done things differently for next time but for this time it was perfect.
Before I went there I went to Cardiff and Bristol so that I could check out that area too - Cardiff was way cooler than I thought it was going to be as was Bristol. I haven't stayed in a backpackers since high school and this one was so good - they fed us free cider and nachos on our first night. And it was clean!

I brought a felt patch at a vintage fair that was hidden down a side street, got a free tuktuk ride, had my first snake bite at The Walkabout, worked out in an outside gym and it was all a blast with my boyfriend and sister.
Next to Bristol we went where we explored the city looking for Banksy artwork, and hired a car for a day which we took to Stonehenge and Bath. Stonehenge was way overrated and we didn't pay to go into but totally stoked that I went anyway. I've been to bath before but Jared hadn't - I was a pro at finding the sightseeing spots there.
We planned to take groceries to Glastonbury and in the end we ended up buying too much food. Which we had to carry. A long way. I'm happy with our tent position at the festival but it was killer to carry from the bus stop to the area!
So many tents/people as we arrived! Cannae even believe we found a possie. I was disappointed that our NZ friends didn't camp with us - in fact they were quite flaky the whole time and didn't seem bothered about spending time with us. I'm just bitter. But seriously that shits rude.
I didn't see anyone famous (other than on the stage) and the fashion that people were wearing was kind of a let down. Wasn't anything that special to me. I wore new clothes, and even my Hunters came out and got muddy! So thankful I took them and I was lucky it didn't rain more as I only took one pair of long socks.
Everyone wore flower hair bands, denim shorts, pink floss hair, and bindis. At first I ranted about it on Facebook but as the weekend went on I realised that the best thing about Glastonbury (other than the music) is that anyone can wear whatever they please and it's totally acceptable. Like actually! Who cares if they all look the same - that is what makes Glastonbury so special - no one judges.
A fav find of the festival would be The Staves who I saw on the Saturday morning. They were so superb with their harmonies.
Gary Clark Jr played some sick guitar solos but unfortunately clashed with Mumford and Sons, who we didn't go see - quite gutting when we found out our other fav bands joined them to play a Beatles song! The Vaccines, First Aid Kit, Vampire Weekend. Well fuck me. If it helps there was a slight chance that Mick Jagger might've joined GCJ on stage as GCJ played with MJ recently in the USA. But it didn't happen.
Drugs. They are everywhere! A dealer came up to our tent and asked us if we were sorted for the night (weed, mdma, acid, cole etc), people toking in the crowd and the police are wandering round. Jared said that they probably have to look over it as there's not enough man power to stop everyone. There wasn't even any drug dogs like there are in New Zealand.
Three days later I am having Glastonbury withdrawals. I want to go back! It was such fun, and stressful at the same time. I honestly think I walked 20km + a day. I have blisters on my feet from my Vans but it was worth it.
