Is it snow or rain? Either way I saw snow on Valentine's Day. Photo: Harvey Warbanger
Diary Entry from: 20th February 2014
I’m at work thinking back to our night in Glasgow. We went to Glasgow to see Malcolm Middleton play at Stereo. Ironic that we went to listen to his upbeat depressing music on Valentines Day.
We caught separate buses as I didn’t want to get too much time of work and when I was walking up to Edinburgh Bus Station it was snowing! Not enough for it to cover the ground in snow though.
Without a booking at Stereo Restaurant we managed to squeeze in for a delicious meal (vegan, hurray!) and meet our friends (literally met one of our friends, but also our musical buddy Malcolm Middleton) down stairs at the venue. Jared introduced himself to Malcolm Middleton after his set and told him we’d saw him in Wellington at San Francisco Bathhouse back in 2008. Gush.
The hotel that we stayed at for the night was classic - ibis Glasgow. It had a poppy flower carpet theme in the hallway and I had the best sleep. It was like a mini-vacation in Scotland. It just was nice waking up in a clean/flatmate free environment.
Everyone is so friendly in Glasgow. Advice for those looking to move to Scotland – move to Glasgow, it’s so much better than Edinburgh!
