On our way to England

On the riverfront in Bordeaux - potentially one of the most memorable spots on our travels // Bordeaux, France

The smell of freshly cut grass in the middle of winter whilst you're overseas is great //

Saturday 16th February – Train to London from Paris

Bordeaux: 2 x nights on bottles of red wine, tickets sorted to get back to Paris, tomato soup lunch, wandering around Bordeaux, brought some make up foundation, river walk, shopping, home. Dinner. Movie - Django Unchained at a beautiful church that had been renovated into a movie theatre.

Valentines Day: Kiwi brunch, shopping for valentines presents - I found JE a shield ring in a old french antique shop, lunch, drink, shopping, supermarket, train to Paris. Found ourselves in a horrible shitty hotel. Walk around block twice not knowing what to eat for diner, ended up getting thai dinner, and then bed time.

Next day: muesli, can't get bikes as they are all taken or broken, train to Loving Hut [a vegan chain restaurant around the world - the Camden Markets one has just announced they are closing] tasty lunch, trained around. Trained to bottom end of Paris. Bummed around. Trained to Eiffel Tower. Ate some sushi, bread and hummus, drank red wine, watched the tower's lights sparkle for five minutes. Needed to pee. Walked to train. Walked homed and into bed.

Wake up and now it's today! We trained to get to the Eurostar departure, found lunch (Quick Burgers in the end), go through customs and border control – first time! Exciting get a stamp.

The second trip of Paris was kind of a let down for me. I guess we didn't have as much to do and the excitement of seeing Paris was gone. And our accommodation was not nice at all. But we get to see Jessica soon (my sister)! I wonder what'll be like. I hope her flat isn't messy. It's getting more and more real with us – living over here. Guess I'm anxious about finding a job and getting a nice place to live.

[Rule to note: choose nice places to rest your head otherwise your head won't be resting]

Excuse the rubbish bin on the bottom left // Paris, France - second time around
