Diary entry from: 14th July 2013
I haven't been doing too well with my diary. I always write in it anticipating something to happen but never really follow up on what actually happened at the event that I was anticipating.
Glastonbury was great! Although I fought with my sister during the Vampire Weekend set (oh far out, how embarrassing) it was great. The reason why we fought was essentially down to cellphone reception issues, and also the fact that she was there for a totally different reason than I was. The music that I saw was amazing but it was super disappointing to hear [or not in fact be able to hear/see] that Mumford and Sons played with so many of our favourite bands when we were watching Gary Clark Jr. The Vaccines! The Staves! First Aid Kit! Vampire Weekend! WHAT! But Gary Clark Jr. was bad ass.
Glastonbury Wishes:
I wish I had a bigger tent for two people.
I wish I took a chilly bag for cooling my beers down.
I wish I took less clothes. 3 x dresses would've cut it.
I am thankful it was sunny!
In the weekend I went to Loch Lomond's Highland Games with my NZ friend. She makes me feel political ignorant. The games were good. I held an owl and felt its feathers on my cheek. I was nervous as his beak was so close to my mouth. They are a very beautiful bird but it's also depressing as they are tied down by ropes at the stall. On a side note still doing the vegan thing but clearly not looking at the bigger picture (I paid money to hold an owl).
We've booked tickets to Stockholm, Belfast and Dublin coming up. Looks like we'll spend Christmas in London with a friend. He's a laugh but not very reliable about being in places so we shall see [Haha - that fell through due to his change of plans/unreliability]. It'll be JE and I's first Christmas together!
I'm currently on the bus to work. It's going well - we have an event coming up; the British National XC Mountain Bike Championships in Cathkin Braes, Glasgow.
I thought we weren't going to have enough volunteers but I think I've got it all sorted. Hoping that everything goes to plan and I haven't forgotten to do something. My eczema has been playing up - as per usual - so no doubt it is to do with stress of work [it is - I don't have eczema at the moment as work isn't stressful]. It was nice not having it in the 3 months that we travelled. Refreshing to know it does disappear.
I cut my hair a bit too short last night and straightened it. It's poofy this morning and I'm not actually sure why. Maybe it's the weather in Edinburgh and I'm not used to it.
Feel like I'm losing friends so I've been emailing them recently. I wonder if they are like "Weird, why is Kirsty emailing me randomly?".
