Learn from this: Don't eat so many Jelly Belly beans

A rider coming down the downhill track from the Start line // Fort William, Scotland

Flashback Diary Entry to: 12th June 2013

My experience at Fort William World cup was great. I do wish that I was a little bit more prepared which would have meant that I had more responsibility but never mind. There wasn't much more that I could do to become prepared. I really can't wait till next year, hope I'm still around but not sure if I will be. I've been offered the job to go permanent but have an interview with Yelp on Friday - not sure how that'll work considering I'm vegan [interview went terribly and I couldn't really hear what she was saying].

My friends that live in Hamburg at the moment - Linda and Liam are meant to be coming to Edinburgh soon - would be nice to hang out with friends. I miss people. I miss company and conversation. I miss having girlfriends to talk to. I miss family. I guess I'm homesick. I wish it was summer [you'd assume June would be summer]. I wish a lot of things that I can't have.

Our flatmate, Isabella is moving out tomorrow - she doesn't like the room. It doesn't matter the £65 we got each week came in handy!

Feeling uninspired and underwhelmed at the moment and it's probably because everything was so busy when the World Cup was on.

Things to remember from the trip:
- Onion rings at Ben Nevis Hotel for a starter. They were gold!
- Dust on shoes and wearing the same jeans, sneakers for a week.
- Scottish people say Aye, Dinnae, Cannae. Totally learning the language.
- the office, the radios, the copiers, the volunteers.
- learning lots about mountain biking.

This I could learn from:
- not getting so terse with people
- don't eat so many Jelly Belly beans
- prepare! And remember what you prepare.
- explore everywhere at the event so you know what people are talking about and what their roles are.
