Diary entry from: 22nd April 2014 Santorini... it has been a little bit of a let down but it still has been so incredible.

The weather has clouded the experience I think. It's not as sunny as Athens although I do seem to have gotten burnt yesterday through the haze that has covered the island.

Jared has gone out to get breakfast for us. I had a tantrum last night but lets not talk about what lead up to it [hint: the rock that goes on a left hand]. We arrived in Fira and wandered around and since then I claim that I love this part of the city more than Oia.

We found ourselves with a drink at Francos and we ate dinner at Dionysus Restaurant which was surprisingly vegan friendly with a free dessert wine given to us as we left.

We've hired a quad bike and it took us to two separate beaches that didn't manage to impress us after coming from golden sandy beached New Zealand. It was that or there wasn't enough sun to enhance its beauty.

We ate at a vegan friendly place in Perissa which served me the best drink Ive tasted in awhile. It was a coconut peanut banana smoothie! [I've made these since a couple of times in the UK] We swam back at the apartment in their swimming pool and dressed up in our nicest clothes for an evening out.

We drove to Oia to watch the sunset and although beautiful with the stunning white homes, the sunset didn't peek through the clouds for us.
