First post from Edinburgh!

Snow in Edinburgh, Scotland //

Everything in Edinburgh, Scotland is so old //

15/3/13 Edinburgh

It's been a nearly a month since I got interrupted by Jess in her room in London when I was writing about what we got up to in London. On that Wednesday we went to Harrods and I saw Justin Bieber and Will.I.Am. I also brought truffle pasta sauce – FINALLY I found something that has truffle in it after searching throughout Italy and France for it. Of all places I find it in England.

It's been about two weeks since we've been here. The first couple of days we were hard out trying to find a flat and then we found one that was quite expensive so thankfully it fell through. Our second flat we saw we've now got. It's pretty awesome – and it's feeling more homely. We had to pay six months in advance as we didn't have any UK references, and we also didn't have any jobs (thumbs down!).

We are now really poor and stressed out looking for work. We stayed at a flash hotel in the weekend that we didn't have anywhere to live (worked out cheaper than hostels) and it had a gym, pool and an amazing bed. We were living the high life - gym, pool, dinner, sleep. After that we went to Regis Hotel Guest House which had a pretty top notch breakfast going for it.

I've been to two digital marketing events and have more lined up – I am getting contacts but it's hard putting myself out there seeing as I don't have that much experience. I pale in comparison! Denials are hard to take. I'm just hoping it's not going to take a year to find a job like it did with the TRN Whangarei role.

We've been to the Art Gallery and the museum, shopping, IKEA [so overwhelming!], pubs such as Brass Monkey, cafes like Bees and Lovecrumbs. We're going to club tonight – Citrus Club [We didn't.] and then Sunday 10AM St Patricks Day [We did.] and on Monday to a free movie screening [We didn't.]. Then for me on Thursday a SEO event [I didn't.]

Missing New Zealand stuff but have daffodils in front of me at the moment so I guess it's not so bad after all.

The above diary entry is a flash back to my 'Europe' diary.
