The holiday part of my overseas experience has finished and I'm in Edinburgh which is where I shall live for the next couple of years. This city has so far impressed me with it's old fashion charm; the buildings, the scottish accent, and the cafes and restaurants are stunning.
I've popped into a couple of recruitment companies to hand in my CV looking for work and was delighted when one of the companies gave me gold nuggets of information! She spoke of a coffee group that meets every Friday morning to talk digital. Called the Edinburgh Digital Coffee Morning they all meet up and I guess mingle , and drink coffee - I haven't been yet but plan to go along as soon as possible.
There's also an event tonight to go along to: #ThirstdayEdin which happens every month on the first Thursday - a group of digital marketers... and that's all I really know about it! I look forward to finding out whether it's an informal get together or a seminar - regardless I'm sure I will learn more about the digital marketing industry in Edinburgh.
Another event coming up which is on the front of my mind to attend is Mobile Connects: An integrated approach to mobile marketing put on by the Direct Marketing Association. Worth a go I reckon? Might find some more gold nuggets of information there...
