Train Journey: Diary, Coffee and Tickets
The Squirrel in the park
Diary entry from: 17th May 2014, somewhere between Edinburgh and York.
Well that was an exciting rush to be apart of. Finding out 8 minutes before the train journey we had to print off our tickets... with help from the Scottish men at Edinburgh's Travel Centre and our newly printed tickets we ran to Platform 7 only to wonder if that particular train was going to York in the first place. It was. Anger flashes over, we laughed, smiled and were grateful for our fortune.
Travelling to and booking beds in York was a spur of the moment idea on 26th Feb at 8.30pm. After researching and talking to co-workers it started to appear that our York didn't have anything to do in it. Apart from an old wall (which we are going to explore), we then started to look at Leeds for a day. What's in Leeds? Well gold owls for a start. You can follow the gold owl statues around Leeds to view the city. I think the owls are to show prosperity.
Cut: We just handed over our tickets to the train conductor who asked "are you having trouble with each other today?" - we were sitting apart from each other so we had more space. I LOVE SCOTLAND AND THE HUMOUR. I'm going to miss it.
Anyway to cancel our hostel beds in York and stay in Leeds would've been way too expensive so we're definitely staying in York. And York is meant to be 23 degrees today! And hopefully this will mean we get to have a BBQ! Relax! Hangout! See new things! Maybe shop!
Hurray!
